Swept Away
In this challenge, two teams build a robot to compete against each other. Unlike the past challenges, nothing on the robot can be autonomous. In the challenge each teams robot is put on separate sides of the 8'x8' course. On each side there 12 round balls and 6 footballs. The goal is to put the balls on the opponents side of the field by the end of the match. Also you can put the soccer balls in "goals." Each football on your opponents side of the field is worth 3 points at the end of the match while a soccer ball is worth 1 point. Also a ball in the goal is worth 3 points.
Robot
Our robot displays a similar design as shown on the vex base bot. It has two front wheels with separate motors to enable turning. In has one wheel in the center of the back so it does not flip over. On the back, the is a "wall" so the we can play a little defense if our opponent tries to throw something over the wall. We attempted to attach an arm on our robot, but due to weight and time issues, we were not able to solve that problem.
Coding

We used a basic two motor tank control. This is shown by the coding. While testing it out, we saw that the left motor needed to be driven backwards in order for it to go forward. To solve this, we went back to the programming and inverted the control for the left motor. This allowed for us to drive the left motor the same as the right motor.
